I Need Your Help

Hi Josh, Kirst, Ryan, Karen, Samantha, and Robin.

Some of you know that I am transcribing my grandmother’s handwritten journal to PDF. She wrote her autobiography in the mid-to-late 1970s. It comprises 261 handwritten pages. Here is an image of the cover, first page, and a sample handwritten page:

Grandma Decker’s autobiographical journal – cover
…and this is the cover page of the journal.
This is a sample page of Retta’s (grandma’s) journal. There are over 200 pages of this kind of handwritten work.

I need help transcribing these pages to a text document as soon as possible.

Mom and I are going to Utah to visit my Aunt Margie and Uncle Glade on October 23. I want to be able to have a complete transcription of this journal. I can’t do it alone. I have only been able to get through about 65 pages so far.

There are nearly 200 pages left to transcribe. If I could get each of you to transcribe, say, 25 pages over the next ten days I can get the entire journal transcribed and ready to present to my aunt and uncle when I go to visit them on October 23.

If you are willing, let me know ASAP. I will email you ten pages (images in jpeg format) and instructions for you to transcribe.

When you are complete with the first ten pages, and you are still willing, I will send you ten more pages.

Remember, this is time sensitive. I need these done by next Wednesday. I can get through five pages in less than an hour. I bet you guys will be much quicker.

Let me know if I can answer any questions you have. I want to send the first packages out today!
