Here is a playlist of foreign songs collected over the years that give me goosebumps full of memories. I don’t understand all of the words but the feelings are there.
Which foreign language songs do you enjoy?
This is song number 11 performed as a duet with the original artist, Ivan Lins and a young, new artist, Maro. Lovely.
I made this playlist for Dave Kirkham but think I will share it with the rest of you in case you are interested.
File under: Parsons, Alan
Write Annie’s thoughts here.
Guy’s thoughts:
I am always entertained by artists applying classical elements to popular music. Back in the 70’s a trend of “progressive rock” became popular. Alan Parsons has quite a history of working as a recording engineer and later production.
Alan took classical orchestra to augment his popular and typical band stylings. The thoughtful lyrics are comparisons of games of gambling to the challenges of real life.
I think I listen to this complete album about once each year.
The Turn of a Friendly Card There are unsmiling faces in fetters and chains On a wheel in perpetual motion Who belong to all races and answer all names With no show of an outward emotion And they think it will make their lives easier But the doorway before them is barred And the game never ends when your whole world depends On the turn of a friendly card No the game never ends when your whole world depends On the turn of a friendly card
I’m back.
Here is where I plan to archive things I want to share.
